A subtractive approach
It can be easy to shop inattentively, opting for what is immediately attractive. High-quality items of responsible provenance don't always stand out. Equally, it can be easy to create products without due regard for their footprint.
Aiming to offer a range of worth and integrity, we have tried to minimise waste and environmental impacts by prioritising responsible design and use of resources, and applying a subtractive aesthetic.
We have worked hard at length to design an efficient, streamlined, end-to-end production process, and attractive, lightweight packaging that occupies minimal volume when shipped, and utilises the highest possible percentage of post-consumer recycled materials – aluminium for body care, glass for fragrance. Both are recyclable, aluminium infinitely so. Further, we have taken scrupulous care to select inks, adhesives, and paper and carton stock that will not cause environmental harm. No detail of these elements has been left to assumption or convention.
Because bulk purchasing of non-perishables demonstrably reduces excess processing, packaging and landfill, we also offer refills. Namely, 750ML editions for our standard hand and body wash; and 375ML and 750ML options for standard deodorants – the latter equating to a year’s supply for a single user. Once emptied, refill containers can be repurposed as vessels, vases, or after thorough washing, as water bottles.
Although we have no say in the ultimate fate of our packaging, we trust that you’ll share our approach by using contents to the last drop, taking advantage of refills, storing products appropriately, and reusing and recycling containers habitually.
